Burnaby offers international students the opportunity to study alongside local Canadian students in its elementary and high schools. Most international students come to graduate with a Dogwood Diploma, their entry to top universities in Canada and North America. We also offer a short term Canadian high school experience program of 5 or 10 months as well as an Academic English summer Program 2 – 5 weeks in July/August.

Burnaby School District is proud of its strength in academic programming and achievements. It has the largest Advanced Placement (AP) program in Canada and also offers the prestigious AP Capstone Diploma. The Visual and Performing Arts program in Burnaby is the most diverse in British Columbia. Burnaby students excel in sports and many school teams have won local, provincial and national championships.

Four sports academies – Soccer, Basketball, Ice Hockey and Swimming – accept students wishing to train with professional coaches while studying at high school. Schools have the finest in facilities – science, computer and industrial technology labs, libraries, theatres, media studios, art studios, dance studios, gymnasiums, TV and sound recording studios and cafeterias.

Schools offer excellent support for their international students, as does the Burnaby School District. Burnaby’s ESL program is one of the finest in British Columbia and gives international students the help they need to be successful.
